O’Hare International Airport, the Schaumburg Regional Airport, the Dupage Regional Airport, and the Chicago Executive Airport, all within a reasonable 15 mile drive.

In the past few years, the entertainment district in Hoffman Estates has expanded largely due to the development of the Sears Centre Arena and Cabela’s. Brought to life in October of 2006, the Sears Centre Arena has become the largest entertainment venue in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. It seats 11,000 and is home to the Chicago Storm (Xtreme Soccer League), the Chicago Slaughter (Continental Indoor Football League), and the Chicago Shamrox (National Lacrosse League). The massive arena also serves as a venue for concerts and theatrical performances.  Matchbox Twenty, Lionel Richie, and Billy Joel are just a few of the many musicians who have held concerts at the Sears Centre Arena.

Another top attraction in Hoffman Estates is Cabela’s, which is a 185,000-sqare-foot retail store specializing in hunting, fishing and camping merchandise. The unique experience that Cabela’s provides is what draws over one million visitors to Hoffman Estates each year. Museum-quality animal displays and gigantic aquariums cover the walls of the store, while realistic displays of animals interacting in their natural habitats make up a majority of the store.

In addition to being a great city for entertainment, Hoffman Estates is widely recognized for its first class Park District which prides itself on “family fun with a fitness focus”. Recreational programs and events that are offered appeal to children, seniors, and everyone in between, with a wide range of activities to choose from.  The Park District boasts unmatched facilities including an Ice Arena, Aquatic Center, Sports & Wellness Center, the Poplar Creek Country Club, the Praire Stone Sports & Wellness Center, and the Willow Recreational Center. For those who love golf, the Poplar Creek Country Club is the Northwest Suburbs’ foremost 18-hole golf course, which offers all of the characteristics of a private golf course for public use.
